Liberalization of the motor liability insurance market was discussed at the international conference "Current Issues of Civil and Commercial Legislation and Legal Practice" organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Mostar on June 27 and 28, 2024, the Agency for Insurance Supervision of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina said.

The round table was held in cooperation with the Agency for Insurance Supervision of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Insurance Companies in FBiH.

The participants discussed liberalization of the motor liability insurance market, among other things, considering the current regulatory framework, preparedness of the FBiH/BiH insurance sector and experiences of other countries. It was concluded that a phased approach is the right way, that it is necessary to constantly work on strengthening insurance companies and preparing them to enter the "free" pricing in motor liability insurance, and that to preserve the sector’s stability, it is in the interest of all market participants to delay liberalization until BiH's entry into the European Union.
