In the first half of the year, Wiener osiguranje collected EUR 75.5 million in premiums and ranked third on the domestic insurance market. While its total premium income recorded a 5.2% annual growth, in the non-life insurance the pace was twice as fast (11.1%), osiguranje.hr reports.

"We are in the process of completing our three-year plans and our goal is to return to the 10% market share we had when we were the leader in life insurance", said the President of the Management Board, Tamara Rendić.

The domestic branch of the Austrian VIG group is celebrating its 25th anniversary of operations in Croatia this year, and future operations will be based on four pillars. First is strengthening of its non-life insurance business, which has been the main income generator for the domestic insurance industry for years. In the non-life segment, Wiener will focus on property insurance, health insurance and motor vehicle insurance.

The second pillar will be digitization, which is already underway. And the remaining two business pillars will consist of investments in employees and social responsibility and sustainability.

It is noted that the region, including Croatia, remains the target market for the VIG group. In the next four years, the Austrian group predicts an average growth of 2.8% for the domestic market, three times faster than the eurozone average. Particularly strong growth is expected this year thanks to inflows from European funds, and disposable income and personal consumption will be affected by the slowdown in inflation due to slower growth in food and energy prices.
