At the end of June 2024, the BiH insurance market totaled EUR 279 million, up by 11.6% y-o-y, as the local insurance agency – AZOBIH informed. At the same time, the value of claims paid by insurers increased by 7.74% y-o-y to EUR 110.16 million.

The value of GWP of the insurers operating in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 11.5% to EUR 195.23 million (70% of total GWP), while the Republika Srpska based insurers generated EUR 83.76 million, up by 11.96% y-o-y.

Non-life insurance premiums increased by 13.24% year-on-year to EUR 2626.4 million, while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 5.24% to EUR 52.6 million. From the non-life subclasses, EUR 25.69 million corresponded to the property lines and EUR 166.22 million to motor insurance (MoD and MTPL, summed).

In GWP terms, the top three largest insurers in the country were FBiH based insurers ASA Central osiguranje (11.7% market share), Adriatic osiguranje (9.89%) and Euroherc osiguranje (8.03%). Triglav osiguranje, former 3rd place holder, ranked 4th, with a market share of 7.6%.
