STATISTICS: BOSNIA, 3Q: Double-digit increase of RS based insurers pushed up the aggregate market figures

Based on the figures released by the insurance agencies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and the Srpska Republic (RS), in 3Q2015 the aggregate value of GWP by the 24 insurers active in the two administrative entities that formed the country was EUR 227.2 million, or 4.4% more y-o-y. Overall, the value of claims paid increased by almost 5% y-o-y to EUR 96 million.

The insurers from the Federation accounted for EUR 160.5 million (70.6% of total) or 1.6% more y-o-y, while the RS insurance market generated the remaining rest of EUR 66.7 million (up by 11.9% y-o-y).

Analyzing the aggregate figures, the GWP portfolio consisted of about 20% - life insurance, the equivalent of EUR 45.5 million, the remaining 80% corresponding to non-life insurance classes.

From the general insurance classes, 10.7% of premiums corresponded to the property type and 59% to motor insurance (Motor Hull and MTPL, summed) - the equivalent of EUR 126 million.

Per insurance companies, SARAJEVO osiguranje reported the highest GWP volume - EUR 23.5 million (10.3% market share), followed by EUROHERC (EUR 20.8 million, 9.2%) and UNIQA (EUR 19.7 million, 8.7%).
