At the end of March 2024, the BiH insurance market totaled EUR 132.7 million (BAM 259.44), up by 13.12% y-o-y, as the local insurance agency – AZOBIH informed. At the same time, the value of claims paid by insurers expanded by 9.78% y-o-y to EUR 54.49 million.

Non-life insurance premiums increased by 15.92% year-on-year to EUR 107.17 million (BAM 209.61 million), while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 2.68% to EUR 25.48 million (BAM 49.83 million). From the non-life subclasses, EUR 15.81 million corresponded to the property lines and EUR 74 million to motor insurance (MoD and MTPL, summed).

The value of GWP of the insurers operating in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 12.38% to EUR 93.25 million (70.30% of total GWP), while the Republika Srpska based insurers generated EUR 39.40 million, up by 14.91% y-o-y.

In terms of GWP, the top three largest insurers in the country were FBiH based insurers ASA Central osiguranje osiguranje (11.19% market share), Adriatic osiguranje (9.68%) and Triglav osiguranje (8.10%).
