In 2019, the Uzbek insurance market grew by more than 41% in local currency, to UZS 2,313.09 billion (EUR 217.79 million). However, growth of paid claims at the same time reached 76.54%, according to the data, published by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic.

GWP of voluntary types, which occupy over 86% of the market, increased by almost 46%, while the market share of compulsory insurance decreased in the market portfolio to 13.54%.

At the end of 2019, 20 companies were active on the country's market. Total share of the three leaders is 44%. UZBEKINVEST ranks first (UZS 285.60 billion), the third and fourth places in terms of GWP were taken by UZAGROSUGURTA (UZS 252.64 billion) and Gross Insurance. However, in terms of paid claims the leader is UZAGROSUGURTA.
