In February 2019, the National Bank of Tajikistan announced the creation of the National Association of Insurance Companies, which will support the development of insurance activity in the country.

As the regulator explained, the Association will sustain insurance market development and competition, as well as protect the rights of all insured objects.

As of January 1, 2019, the insurance market participants included 2 state insurers, 16 non-state insurers and 1 mutual insurance support center.
