At PZU's initiative, 12 of the largest CEE enterprises signed the Business Council of Growing Europe founding memorandum
Representatives of the 12 largest and most dynamic enterprises in the CEE - among which the PZU and TRIGLAV Groups -, have signed in Davos a memorandum forming the Business Council of Growing Europe, an initiative that will promote CEE as an attractive destination for investors and to support cooperation between business leaders from the region.

Polish insurers have achieved GWP of PLN 47 billion (EUR 10.74 billion) in 3Q and paid PLN 30.7 billion to injured parties and clients - meaning, in average, about EUR 1 million per hour. Overall, GWP went up by 1.47% in local currency, while claims expenses decreased by 0.9%.

The flagship market of the CEE region, Poland, ended the first half of 2019 with only a modest increase in GWP, of 2.65%, to EUR 7.56 billion. The positive trend was entirely due to the GWP growth on the non-life side (5.36% up, EUR 5.07 billion).

According to the Polish Insurance Guarantee Fund's estimations, there may be about 80-90,000 vehicles in use without a valid MTPL policy, which is 0.4 - 0.5% of all registered vehicles. This percentage places Poland among the CEE countries with the highest degree of insurance coverage, together with Slovenia the Czech Republic and Hungary.

18 July 2019STATISTICS: POLAND: Almost EUR 4 billion in GWP after the first quarter
Polish insurers' aggregate GWP was up by 0.6% y-o-y to PLN 16.35 billion (~EUR 3.80 billion) in the first quarter of 2019, financial indicators from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) showed. Official figures also revealed that the amount of paid claims/indemnities during the period was PLN 10.2 billion, representing a decrease of 2.7% y-o-y.

The Polish Motor Insurers Bureau (PBUK) counted over 75,200 motor accidents abroad caused by vehicles with Polish registration plates for 2018. This means over 200 accidents abroad every day in 2018.
