For the first two months of 2022, GWP of 20 insurance companies in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 178.30 million (~EUR 93.65 million*), which is 11.1% more y-o-y. At that the insurers collected AZN 143.13 million (+21.6%) in voluntary insurance, ABC.AZ reports citing the Central Bank's figures.

Over the same period, GWP from compulsory types of insurance decreased by 17.6% y-o-y to AZN 35.17 million. In January-February, life insurance amounted to AZN 115.30 million, which is 0.9% more than a year earlier.

Insurers' paid claims amounted to AZN 38.93 million, which is 2.6 times less than in the first two months of 2021. During the reporting period, paid claims in voluntary insurance amounted to AZN 24.06 million, which is 63.55% less y-o-y. Paid claims in life insurance decreased by 79.75% to AZN 10.44 million, and in non-life insurance - by 41.4% to AZN 28.48 million.
