STATISTICS:  LITHUANIA 1Q2026: Index-linked and unit-linked life insurance led the market growth

During first quarter of 2026, the Lithuanian insurance market grew by 4.3% y-o-y to EUR 446.6 million, according to the market figures published by the Bank of Lithuania.

The amount of non-life GWP increased by 2.57% y-o-y to ~EUR 341.6 million, while the life insurance market grew by almost 10.37% to ~EUR 104.96 million.

In absolute terms, the life and non-life market segments had a rather equal contribution to the market growth. At business line level, the Index-linked and unit-linked class had the largest contribution, equaled only by the total motor insurance segment.

The MTPL insurance line saw a 4.5% growth, to almost EUR 94 million, while the Motor Hull line recorded GWP worth EUR 74.6 million, up by 4.37% y-o-y. Growth slowed on both motor insurance lines as compared with Q1 2025.

According to the Central Bank's statistics, Allianz Lietuva gyvybės draudimas was the largest life insurer, with a 21.57% market growth, surpassing the former life insurance leaser, COMPENSA Life VIG, which ranked second, with a 21.27% market share.

Lietuvos draudimas (28.13% market share) remained the top non-life insurer out of 13 market players.
