The Uzbek insurance market ended 2013 with a total gross written premiums volume of UZS 338,483.34 million (EUR 111.64 million), up by 18.40% in national currency, as compared with 2012, according to the market data provided by Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Claims paid for all types of insurance amounted to UZS 66,919.81 million (EUR 22.07 million), 45.46% more than in 2012.

In 2013 the share of voluntary insurance in the total amount of insurance premiums reached 69.59% (UZS 235,535.41 million). The share of compulsory insurance in the total amount of insurance premiums was 30.41% (UZS 102,947.92 million).

According to Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in 2013, were active 31 insurance companies, as well as one reinsurance Company and four insurance brokers. The license for three of the companies was canceled during the reporting period.
