The Insurance Supervision Agency (ANO), in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro and the National Bureau of Insurers of Montenegro, supported the organization of the 5th annual conference of the Eastern European Risk and Insurance Association (EERIA), which was held in Podgorica, September 17-19, 2026.

The conference brought together researchers, academics, representatives of regulatory and supervisory authorities, as well as representatives of the insurance sector from Europe and other parts of the world, including the United States, India and Indonesia. The event represented an important platform for the exchange of scientific and professional knowledge, experiences and ideas on current challenges and development directions in the field of insurance and risk management.

Marko Ivanović, President of the Agency's Council, presented key trends and development directions in the Montenegrin insurance market, providing the international professional public with insight into the development of the insurance sector in Montenegro, as well as the regulatory and supervisory framework.

This year's conference was given special significance by the presentation of Professor Karel Van Hulle, one of the key creators of the Solvency II regulatory framework, dedicated to the ten-year experience of implementing the European Union's Solvency II Directive.

Considering the diversity of topics and the international character of the conference, the ANO emphasized that holding of the 5th annual EERIA conference in Podgorica confirms the importance of continued cooperation between the academic community, regulatory institutions and the insurance sector in dealing with modern risks and improving the insurance market.
