The General Assembly of the Actuarial Association of Europe elected Hartwig Sorger, President of the Austrian Actuarial Association as Chairperson for one year, until the 2027 General Assembly. Hartwig has served on the Board since 2023 and as Honorary Treasurer since 2024.

Lauri Saraste, Director of Development, Regulation and ESG for Finish insurer Lähi Tapiola was elected Vice-Chairperson, with the invitation to take the chair in 2027.

In his maiden speech he thanked the Assembly for its trust and named his first priority: transparency and reliability, to make trust grow again. He also played on our initials: the AAE should not become an AAI but stay an AAWE. "Let's set the sails together."

• Nominations Panel: Jacek Skwierczynski (Poland) and Falco Valkenburg (Netherlands)
