ERGO appointed the former head of PZU Ukraine as CEO of its Russian non-life unit

Subject to official approval, ERGO International has appointed Maciej SZYSZKO to be the new Chief Executive Officer for ERGO non-life business in Russia.

Before joining ERGO, Maciej SZYSZKO was as CEO of PZU Ukraine, a subsidiary of the Polish PZU SA Insurance Group. "Under his successful guidance, PZU became a market leader in the Ukrainian non-life business", ERGO announced in a statement.

Dmitri DEMIDOV, previously responsible for ERGO's life and non-life business in Russia, remained at the head of ERGO Life Insurance in Russia.

"Maciej SZYSZKO is appointed as part of a management restructuring programme to comply with the amended governance regulations which came into effect in 2018 in Russia. Under these new regulations, one person may not be in charge of two independently operating insurance companies with equal rights".
