RUSSIA: Alexander ZARETSKI steps down from the presidency at METLIFE

On April 1, 2019, Alexander ZARETSKI will step down from his presidency of METLIFE. According to the Company's Board of Directors, this decision was made for personal reasons. Gheorghe DIMITRU will take over as president, ASN wrote.

Following 2018 results, METLIFE ranked 16th among life insurers. Its growth in local currency amounted to 10.46% y-o-y.

Alexander ZARETSKI joined METLIFE in 1997 as Operations director and became the company president in 2003. He was also one of the founders of the Association of Life Insurers (ALI) in 2010, which he headed for 8 years. At the moment, ZARETSKI is a presidium member of ALI and a presidium member of the All-Russian Insurance Association (ARIA).

Gheorghe DIMITRU joined MetLife in Greece in 2000 and has served as Vice President, Head of Corporate Insurance, Employee Benefits & Pensions Center of Expertise of the EMEA region.
