In January-May 2025, domestic MTPL market in Ukraine saw growth, Forinsurer writes with reference to the MTIBU report (Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine). According to the MTIBU, GWP more than doubled - by 122%, reaching UAH 8.42 billion (~EUR 0.18 billion). Particularly noticeable growth was observed in electronic contracts - up to UAH 8.39 billion (+176%).

In the first quarter of 2025, more than 1.5 million MTPL contracts were concluded in Ukraine, which is 8.83% less y-o-y. GWP in the segment exceeded UAH 4.5 billion (~EUR 0.10 billion), which means an increase of 114.81%. The average premium increased by 135.61%, Forinsurer reports.

The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) made 5,242 regulatory payments from the Victims' Protection Fund in the first quarter of 2025 for a total of UAH 290.3 million (~EUR 6.53 million).
