In 1H2026, the Azerbaijani insurance market totaled AZN 867.40 million (EUR 447.99 million), a 6.16% increase y-o-y, according to data published by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. Total paid claims for the reporting period amounted to AZN 549.68 million (~EUR 283.90 million), representing a 27.18% y-o-y increase.

From January to June of this year, total GWP from mandatory insurance in Azerbaijan decreased by 23.12% to AZN 149.67 million. Meanwhile, voluntary insurance increased by 15.32% (in AZN).

Life insurance dominates the market, with its share of the market premium portfolio increasing to 59.54%. At the same time, life insurance paid claims rose 32.56% to AZN 402.05 million.

According to 1H2026 results, PASHA LIFE remains the market leader in terms of GWP (AZN 421.64 million), followed by PASHA Insurance (AZN 209.11 million). Ateshgah Life, as a year ago, rounds out the top three by a wide margin (AZN 60.05 million).
