KAZAKHSTAN: Draft law on the insurance market developed

The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, in collaboration with relevant government bodies, has developed draft laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the insurance market" and "On amendments to certain laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on regulation and development of the insurance market", reports Allinsurance.kz.





POLAND: KNF set to become the national resolution authority for insurers and reinsurers

Poland’s Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) is set to become the national resolution authority for insurers and reinsurers under the planned implementation of the EU Insurance Recovery and Resolution Directive (IRRD), instead of the Bank Guarantee Fund (BFG), which had been preparing for this role for several years, Gazeta Ubezpieczeniowa reported.

STATISTICS: HUNGARY, 1H2026

The Hungarian insurance sector maintained a positive development and financial stability in the first half of 2026. The sector’s cumulative premium income amounted to HUF 1,084 billion (EUR 3.053 billion), up 3.5% y-o-y, according to data provided by the National Bank of Hungary (MNB). The overall result reflected a 6.7% increase in non-life premium income and a 1% decrease in life insurance premiums.

STATISTICS: POLAND 1H2026: Insurance market grows 7.1% as life business gains momentum

The Polish insurance market ended the first half of 2026 with GWP of PLN 47.3 billion (EUR 11.011 billion), up 7.1% y-o-y, according to the Polish Insurance Association (PIU). Life insurance premiums increased by 12.5% to PLN 13.6 billion (EUR 3.167 billion), while non-life GWP rose by 5% to PLN 33.7 billion (EUR 7.84 billion).





STATISTICS: UZBEKISTAN, 1H2026: The market sees a rise in GWP, paid claims, number of policies and charter capital

Uzbekistan's insurance sector grew by 28.63% y-o-y in the first half of 2026, reaching a total of UZS 8.02 trillion (EUR 583.07 million). Total paid claims amounted to UZS 2.25 trillion (EUR 163.80 million), which is 80.91% more y-o-y in local currency, according to data published by the National Agency for Prospective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NAPP).
