The main growth driver was voluntary personal insurance, which in the period under review amounted to KZT 739.1 billion (+5.4%). This rise was primarily supported by pension annuity insurance increase by 6.4% and life insurance by 15.3%.
Voluntary property insurance for January-November 2025 totaled KZT 491.5 billion, which is 18.9% more y-o-y. This increase was primarily due to a 19.8% growth in property damage insurance.
Compulsory insurance for the period under review totaled KZT 238.4 billion, which is 6.6% more compared to the same period in 2024. This increase was primarily supported by compulsory MTPL, which rose by 17.6% to KZT 108 billion.
The number of insurance contracts concluded by individuals and legal entities from January to November 2025 totaled 21.1 million units, which represents a 0.4% decrease y-o-y.
Total paid claims for January-November 2025 amounted to KZT 403.0 billion (~EUR 0.68 billion), which us 33.9% more y-o-y. This increase was primarily due to a 47.1% increase in voluntary personal insurance payments to KZT 133.4 billion.
As of December 1, 2025, 25 insurance companies operated in the insurance sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 10 of which were life insurers.
Insurers' assets increased by 21.1% from January to November 2025 to KZT 3.8 trillion, mostly supported by increased income from insurance operations and investments in securities. As of December 1, 2025, securities made up the largest share of assets, accounting for 73.8% (KZT 2.8 trillion).
Insurance sector liabilities increased by 24.2% to KZT 2.7 trillion during the period under review. Equity increased by 15.1% to KZT 1.1 trillion. Net profit in the insurance market from January to November 2025 amounted to KZT 234.8 billion, the Agency reports.
