In this role, Scheidegger will lead an experienced team of Claims professionals in delivering customer-focused claims service and upholding the industry-leading Corporate Solutions Claims Commitment. He will be responsible for ensuring claims handling and reserving processes are consistently met and maintaining open dialogue with Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance and other functions to provide claims intelligence that will better serve customers. He will also focus on people to ensure Corporate Solutions is attracting and developing talent. He will relocate from Paris to Zurich and report to Andreas Berger, CEO Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

Scheidegger succeeds James George, who has decided to pursue other professional and personal opportunities outside of Swiss Re. George will step down as Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' Chief Claims Officer as of 1 April 2020 after 25 years with the company and its legacy firms. Berger will fill the role ad interim between 1 April and 1 June, subject to approval by the relevant authorities. George will remain with the company through 1 July 2020 to allow for a seamless transition while still balancing his time and limiting his travel.

Scheidegger brings over 24 years of insurance experience, during which he held numerous leadership roles with broad international claims responsibilities. Most recently, he was Claims Director for Continental Europe at a large global carrier. A Swiss national, Scheidegger holds an MSc in Innovation Management from the Universita della Svizzera Italiana in Switzerland and a BA in Business Administration & Marketing from the University of Applied Sciences of Zurich. He has lived and worked in EMEA and APAC and is multilingual.
