BETZ, 48, will take over responsibility for the business of HDI Global SE in Europe, North and South America. He joins from the Zurich Insurance Company where he was a member of the German Management Board and in charge of the German Commercial Insurance business. His previous positions at Zurich included working as Head of Commercial Insurance Mexico, Chief Operating Officer for Industrial Customer Business in Asia Pacific and Head of Captive Related Business in Spain. He has a degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and an MBA from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.
BETZ will succeed Stefan SIGULLA, who is leaving the Management Board by amicable and mutual consent after many years of successful work.
SIGULLA, 62, has been a Member of the Management Board of HDI Global SE since 2011. With a doctorate in law, Dr Sigulla was primarily responsible for the Liability Insurance Line, which also includes the areas Financial Lines and Cyber Insurance. On 31 August, Dr Sigulla will leave the company.
The appointment of Yves BETZ is still subject to the approval of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) in accordance with the Insurance Supervision Act.
