AZERBAIJAN: PASHA Life's net profit in the first half of the year rises 12.4%, while some other top 5 companies record declines and even losses

The net profit of PASHA Life Insurance, the market leader by GWP, amounted to AZN 27.67 million (~EUR 14.29 million) in the first half of 2026, up 12.4% y-o-y, according to abc.az.

The company's total revenue increased by 24.5% to AZN 410.32 million, while total expenses increased by 26.05% to AZN 375.21 million. Income tax amounted to AZN 7.44 million (+0.85%). The insurer's assets as of July 1 amounted to AZN 840.60 million (-1.6%). Liabilities decreased by 1.4% to AZN 731.25 million, while balance sheet capital decreased by 3.2% to AZN 109.35 million.

Atəşgah Sığorta, another insurer that ranked fourth in the market by GWP for the first half of the year, ended the reporting period with a net loss of AZN 994,000, whereas in the same period last year, the company earned a net profit of AZN 1.52 million.

Atəşgah Sığorta's revenue increased by 0.35% y-o-y in January-June, reaching AZN 35.66 million. Expenses increased by 9% to AZN 36.65 million. The company's assets as of July 1, 2026, decreased by 0.2% to AZN 64.29 million. The insurer's liabilities increased by 2.5% to AZN 53.16 million, while balance sheet capital decreased by 8.1% to AZN 16.12 million.

Qala Sığorta, that ranked fifth in the market by GWP, ended the first half of 2026 with a net profit of AZN 2.89 million, which is 47.65% less y-o-y.

According to the company, Qala Sığorta's revenue decreased by 19.3% y-o-y in January-June to AZN 37.82 million, expenses decreased by 13.05% to AZN 33.40 million, and income tax payments fell by 47.65% to AZN 885,000.

The insurer's assets as of July 1 amounted to AZN 89.67 million (-7.2%). Liabilities decreased to AZN 64.91 million (-10.55%). Balance sheet capital amounted to AZN 24.75 million (+2.95%), the source writes.
