In 2025, voluntary property insurance against fire and other risks in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 85.53 million (~EUR 42.76 million), which means a 3.8% decrease compared to 2024, ABC.AZ reports.

Over the same period, paid claims in the segment amounted to AZN 4.01 million (~EUR 2 million), which is 6.4% more y-o-y.

It is noted that the segment dynamics over the past four years have been mixed: in 2022, GWP amounted to AZN 66.35 million, with paid claims standing at AZN 1.43 million; in 2023, GWP increased to AZN 74.93 million, with paid claims sharply jumping to AZN 75.42 million; in 2024, GWP peaked at AZN 88.95 million, while paid claims fell to AZN 3.77 million.

A comparison of the loss ratio in the segment by year shows that in 2022, it was 2.2%, in 2023 - 100.7%, in 2024 - 4.2%, and in 2025 - 4.7%. Thus, after high losses in 2023, the market has been less unprofitable over the past two years, the source added.
